1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using RAVN Mail, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by these terms, please do not use this service.

RAVN Mail is a desktop email client with integrated AI-assisted features, developed by Coder's Cantina e.U., a limited liability company registered in Vienna, Austria (hereafter "Company", "we", "us", or "our").

2. Description of Service

RAVN Mail is a desktop email client application that provides tools to help you manage, organize, and interact with email accounts. The service includes:

  • Local email database synchronization with configured email accounts (Gmail, Office365, Outlook, IMAP, and other compatible providers)
  • AI-assisted features powered by OpenRouter, including email gist generation, quick reply suggestions, email writing assistance, subject line generation, conversation summaries, and natural language search
  • License validation through LemonSqueezy payment processing
  • No centralized user account or login system—license validation is performed against your subscription via LemonSqueezy

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use RAVN Mail to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations in your jurisdiction
  • Infringe upon the intellectual property or privacy rights of others
  • Transmit harmful, malicious, or illegal content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or any third-party systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the functionality of our services
  • Use our services for spam, harassment, or unsolicited communications
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
  • Circumvent license validation or subscription requirements
  • Use the service in violation of OpenRouter's terms of service

4. Intellectual Property

4.1 Our Rights

RAVN Mail and its original content, features, functionality, user interface, and source code are owned by Coder's Cantina e.U. and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use RAVN Mail solely as permitted by these terms.

4.2 User Content

You retain full ownership of any intellectual property rights in content that you create, store, or process using RAVN Mail (including emails, attachments, and other data). We do not claim ownership of your content.

By using RAVN Mail, you grant us a limited license to:

  • Access, process, and store your content locally on your device for the purpose of providing the service
  • Transmit your content to OpenRouter's infrastructure solely to provide AI-assisted features you explicitly request
  • Use anonymized, aggregated data to improve service performance and reliability (see Section 7 for data handling details)

5. Subscription, Licensing, and Credits

5.1 License Validation

RAVN Mail requires a valid subscription license managed through LemonSqueezy. License validation is performed against your LemonSqueezy subscription on your device; we do not maintain a separate user account or login system.

5.2 Subscription Model

Subscriptions are purchased through LemonSqueezy and follow the terms set by that payment processor. Your subscription:

  • Begins on the date of purchase (not on a calendar month)
  • Includes a monthly allocation of AI operation credits
  • Credits are non-monetary and represent approximate operations across all AI features

5.3 AI Operation Credits

Each subscription tier includes a monthly allocation of AI operation credits. These credits:

  • Are refreshed monthly on your subscription anniversary date
  • Do not carry forward to subsequent months—unused credits expire and cannot be rolled over
  • Represent approximate operations based on average token consumption patterns observed during internal testing using the GPT-OSS-Safeguard-20B language model under typical user scenarios
  • Vary in actual consumption based on factors including message length, content complexity, feature combinations, and individual usage patterns
  • Should be considered approximate estimates and for planning purposes only—actual results may vary

When your monthly credit allocation is exhausted, AI features will be temporarily unavailable until your next monthly credit refresh.

5.4 Pricing and Changes

  • All fees are charged in advance in accordance with your subscription agreement with LemonSqueezy
  • We may modify subscription pricing with 30 days' notice
  • Price changes apply to new subscription periods, not retroactively to current subscriptions

5.5 Payment Authorization

By purchasing a subscription, you authorize LemonSqueezy to charge your payment method for all subscription fees according to your chosen billing cycle (monthly or annual).

6. Subscription Cancellation and Expiration

6.1 Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your subscription at any time through LemonSqueezy. Upon cancellation:

  • Your subscription remains valid and active until the next scheduled renewal date
  • No refunds are issued for the remainder of the active subscription period
  • After the subscription expires, the software transitions to free tier mode (see Section 6.3)

6.2 Automatic Expiration and License Revocation

Your subscription license is automatically validated against LemonSqueezy on each application launch. If validation fails due to:

  • Subscription expiration
  • Payment failure or insufficient funds
  • License key revocation
  • Other validation errors reported by LemonSqueezy

...access to AI features will be immediately revoked. The application will continue to function in free tier mode as described below.

6.3 Post-Subscription Access

After your subscription expires, RAVN Mail may continue to be used with the following limitations:

  • All AI-assisted features (email gist generation, quick reply, writing assistant, subject generation, conversation summary, natural language search) are disabled or can be used through our BYOK policy
  • Email synchronization and local database functions remain available
  • No further software updates or new versions are provided
  • You retain access only to the latest version that was available during your active subscription period

7. Data Handling, Privacy, and AI Feature Processing

7.1 Local Data Storage

RAVN Mail maintains a local database on your device for email synchronization. This database:

  • Is stored on your computer and remains under your control
  • Contains emails, attachments, and related metadata from your configured email accounts
  • Is synchronized with your configured email providers (Gmail, Office365, Outlook, IMAP, etc.) but is not transmitted to our servers

7.2 AI Feature Data Transmission

When you explicitly use any AI-assisted feature (email gist, quick reply, writing assistant, subject generation, conversation summary, or natural language search), relevant portions of your email content are transmitted to OpenRouter's infrastructure to generate AI responses. This transmission:

  • Occurs only when you initiate an AI feature request
  • May involve third-party AI model providers accessed through OpenRouter
  • Is subject to OpenRouter's terms of service and privacy policy
  • May be logged or processed by OpenRouter for service improvement purposes

You are solely responsible for reviewing OpenRouter's privacy policy and terms of service before using AI features.

7.3 AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

AI-assisted features are provided on an "as is" basis. You acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, errors, or inappropriate suggestions
  • AI models may produce inconsistent or unpredictable outputs
  • You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying all AI-generated content before sending or relying upon it
  • We do not warrant that AI features will be accurate, appropriate, or suitable for your use case
  • AI features are experimental and may be discontinued or modified without notice

The Company is not liable for any damages, losses, or consequences resulting from the use of AI-generated content, including but not limited to professional errors, communication failures, or misrepresentations caused by AI outputs.

7.4 AI Operation Estimate Disclaimer

Monthly operation estimates shown on our marketing materials are based on average token consumption patterns observed during internal testing using the GPT-OSS-Safeguard-20B language model under typical user scenarios. Operation counts vary based on:

  • Message length and complexity
  • Content type and encoding
  • Feature combinations used in a single session
  • Individual usage patterns and preferences

Estimates should be considered approximate and for planning purposes only. Actual results may vary significantly. The Company makes no guarantee regarding the number of operations you will be able to perform within your monthly credit allocation.

7.5 Infrastructure and Availability

  • The Company operates a licensing validation backend redundantly hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in multiple regions
  • License validation is critical to service operation; extended AWS outages may prevent subscription validation
  • AI features depend on OpenRouter's infrastructure and availability; outages or service disruptions at OpenRouter will prevent AI features from functioning
  • The Company does not guarantee 100% uptime for licensing validation or AI services

8. Service Availability and Maintenance

We strive to maintain reliable service availability, but we do not guarantee that RAVN Mail will be available 100% of the time. We may experience downtime for:

  • Regular maintenance and updates
  • Security patches and critical fixes
  • Infrastructure improvements
  • Unforeseen technical issues
  • Third-party provider outages (AWS, OpenRouter, email service providers)

The Company will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned maintenance in advance but makes no guarantees regarding notification timing or service resumption.

9. Termination

9.1 Termination by the Company

We may terminate or suspend your license and access to RAVN Mail immediately, without prior notice, for any reason including:

  • Breach of these Terms of Service
  • Use of the service in violation of applicable laws
  • Payment failure or license validation errors
  • Violation of OpenRouter's terms of service
  • Unauthorized access attempts or security threats
  • Violation of acceptable use policies

9.2 Effects of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your subscription license is revoked
  • AI features are immediately disabled
  • Access to updates and support ceases
  • You may continue using the software in free tier mode with the last available version
  • The Company assumes no responsibility for data recovery or preservation

10. Disclaimers

10.1 As-Is Service

RAVN Mail is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties, expressed or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties of non-infringement or title
  • Warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content

10.2 Third-Party Services

RAVN Mail integrates with third-party services including OpenRouter, LemonSqueezy, AWS, and various email service providers. The Company:

  • Does not control or endorse these third-party services
  • Is not responsible for their operations, reliability, or policies
  • Assumes no liability for third-party service failures or outages
  • Recommends you review the terms and privacy policies of all integrated services

10.3 Email Data Responsibility

The Company:

  • Does not control or own your email accounts or data
  • Does not back up your local email database
  • Is not responsible for data loss, corruption, or unauthorized access to your email accounts
  • Recommends you maintain regular backups of critical email data
  • Is not liable for issues with your configured email service providers (Gmail, Office365, Outlook, etc.)

11. Limitation of Liability

11.1 Cap on Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the total liability of the Company for any and all claims arising from or relating to these Terms of Service or your use of RAVN Mail shall not exceed the amount you paid for your subscription in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11.2 Excluded Damages

In no event shall the Company be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunity
  • Loss of data, email, or other digital assets
  • Loss of use, goodwill, or reputation
  • Business interruption or lost productivity
  • Damages arising from AI-generated content or errors
  • Damages arising from third-party service failures

...even if the Company has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11.3 Applicable Limitations

These limitations apply regardless of:

  • The nature of the claim (contract, tort, strict liability, etc.)
  • Whether the claim arises from breach of warranty, breach of contract, negligence, or any other legal theory
  • Whether or not the Company has been advised of the possibility of such damages

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Company, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from or related to:

  • Your use of RAVN Mail
  • Your breach of these Terms of Service
  • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Your infringement of any third-party intellectual property rights
  • Content you create, store, or transmit using RAVN Mail
  • Your use of AI-generated content in violation of applicable laws or professional standards

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be:

  • Posted on our website and within the application
  • Notified to users via email where practical
  • Effective immediately upon posting

Your continued use of RAVN Mail after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not accept modified terms, you must cease using the service and cancel your subscription.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Austria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. The application of the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is expressly excluded.

14.2 Jurisdiction and Venue

Both parties irrevocably agree that the courts of Vienna, Austria shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear and determine any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms of Service or your use of RAVN Mail.

14.3 GDPR and Data Protection

The Company is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and all applicable Austrian and EU data protection laws. For details on how your personal data is processed, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be severed, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect to the maximum extent permitted by law.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies posted on our website, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Company regarding your use of RAVN Mail and supersede all prior and contemporaneous agreements, understandings, and negotiations, whether written or oral.
